 our       story

The Dkids Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded in Canada dedicated to improving quality of life for youth living with Type 1 Diabetes and their families.

At Dkids, we strive to MAKE TOMORROW BETTER TODAY by offering Quality of Life Programs for T1Ds that deliver diabetes education, support mental health, all while providing nutrition education, community building, exercise and, most important of all, fun.

The Dkids Foundation was created to honour the memory of Robert R. Hindle, a great Canadian, athlete and pioneer in diabetes fundraising who lived with Type 1 Diabetes for nearly 40 years.

Working to improve quality of life for youth living with type 1 diabetes

A lifelong athlete, Dkids honours Robert's legacy by providing support, education and opportunity for young T1Ds through programs designed to build their confidence and improve their communication skills.

In 2023, Dkids will begin the process of fundraising in order to launch The Dkids Foundation’s Quality of Life series of programs for youth living with Type 1 Diabetes.

Including the operation of programs that make a direct impact on improving quality of life, Dkids seeks to provide financial aid, to furnish education, advocacy and awareness programs and to support research.

Join us in making tomorrow better today.
